gone fishing cafe.

Dear readers,

Today was the first day of the EOYs, and the current status report is - still survivable. But then again, it is only the first of five such days. and for this, in Portia's words, "we do pray for mercy".

The complete quote is: "we do pray for mercy, and this same prayer doth teach us to render mercy unto others" or something like that. that's all i could remember!

speaking of remembering, here's another poem, about forgetting.

To Forget.

to the forgotten, or those
who wish to forget.

It is a gentle rain
that frames men against trees,
and blurs the shady white of hidden moons
into a lonely oriole cry, dulling
the senses and passions
of forgotten things.

It is a rain that
breathes, life, into grass,
rejuvenating every blade into shocks of
glimmering green. It is a sin to
live to forget, but sometimes
we have to forget
to live.

The rain covers all,
flooding out deranged beggars, drowning
the music that falters in its own echo against
slippery walls, competing with thunder;
a blanket that dulls, excises,
purges, cleanses,
blinds.

In a flurry of
toads croaking like the broken stairs
and housewives awakened by
the sloshing of husbands in the driveways,
rushing to shield clean linen from the downpour,
even the rain
is forgotten.
