appreciating poetry.
Dear readers,
It's been an interesting week of post-exam activities for all of us, and for better or for worse, we've all survived it. Now we're looking forward to the Deepavali break tomorrow and most of all, the holidays that linger just over the horizon. In between the two, though, there's the valley of the shadow of (results).
Still, tkwek's been writing, and here are a number of latest ones. Enjoy!
when we then let
the rebel in us wander
along the streets, think
about those who might
not have streets to
wander along.

Ignorance
Everyone tells us, life
is full of problems, contradictions,
struggles – sometimes outer, but
mostly inner. Sadly, we
aren’t always blessed to
know the reasons
for our teardrops.
But then again, we
ask ourselves, whether to
know is really a blessing –
for most of the
time, we in ourselves are not blessed
enough with strength to deal
with the truth.
Perhaps, among all blessings, ignorance
is still bliss. A blanket that
drowns, numbs, mollifies, stuns,
gives us peace.
And we, like winter branches,
find it easier to shoulder
the weight of a snow we
do not know.

Reactions
there is some great adversary whom
we do not know and cannot
bear to know,
We are not just stunned into
thinking that life should
really still go on;
we force our lives to go
on, perhaps with imperceptibly more
rigor than before,
Such that in the heat of
the mundane, and all the
excitement of finding new things
to do everyday,
We may shut down the
part of our minds that cannot
stop asking why.
